Important Information
Due to a current uptick of positive COVID-19 cases in Meriwether County along with the fact that all hospitals in the west Georgia area are at capacity and emergency rooms are diverting COVID-19 patients, all academic instruction will transition to remote learning on Thursday and Friday, January 7-8, 2021. Students currently being served via traditional instruction will resume in-person learning on Monday, January 11, 2021.
The staff at each school will be in touch with all students who are transitioning to remote learning as soon as feasible regarding instruction for Thursday and Friday, January 7-8, 2021. All Meriwether County Schools’ staff will be on each campus and available for students and parents all this week through Friday, January 8, 2021.
Meals for current remote learners will be disbursed as normal on Thursday and Friday, January 7-8, 2021. Meals for current traditional learners will be available for pick-up at each school cafeteria at 10:30 AM on both Thursday and Friday, January 7-8, 2021.
Thank you for your patience and support as we take measures to address the safety and well-being of our staff and students. Meriwether County Schools will continue to consult with the Georgia Department of Public Health and monitor current data regarding the current situation with COVID-19. If needed, we will make an announcement in the event of any further updates.
