MVES Eclipse Plans
MVES Parents,
We wanted to inform everyone of our plans for the solar eclipse that will occur on Monday, August 21st from 1:00pm-4:00pm. This will be a great opportunity for our students to witness an event that rarely occurs in our area. Your child’s safety is our number one priority so we wanted to share with you our plans for allowing students to view the solar eclipse. We have assembled an “Eclipse Team” consisting of staff members that will go around to each classroom to assist teachers in supervising their students. Students that have signed permission forms will be taken outside for 3-5 minutes in groups of 5 to view the eclipse with one of the members of our eclipse team. All glasses that have been purchased are approved and have been verified by Amazon to have no defects. Our team will also inspect the glasses to ensure that all glasses are in working condition. Students that do not have permission to view the eclipse will remain in the classroom where they can view it live using computers or Smartboards. We will dismiss at 3:45pm on this day so please be patient as the buses drop off students in the afternoon. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks
